BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -- Isabel Kyprislidis has been named the NEC's latest Rookie of the Week award recipient, the conference announced Monday.
 
The freshman received such recognition after scoring the game-winning goal against Mercyhurst on Sept 20. With the game tied and time winding down, Kyprislidis scored the game-winner in the 89^th minute to give her team the edge and eventual 2-1 victory. She had a season-high three shots in the game for the aggressive Sharks, who as a team had a season-high 17 shots in the contest.
 
Kyprislidis' score was her second goal of the season, tying her for the team lead thus far. She had two shots in LIU's game against CCSU on Sept. 17 to help add to her success on the week to take home the honor.
 
While she's been making her mark for the Sharks, Kyprislidis will soon suit up for the Greece women's national under-19 team.
 
Meanwhile, LIU will next take the field on Thursday, Sept. 24, taking on Delaware State at 2:30 p.m. at SUSA Orlin & Cohen Sports Complex in Central Islip, N.Y.
