BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Long Island University student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom during the spring 2026 semester, recording a 3.40 overall GPA in the spring and a 3.37 cumulative GPA. At LIU, 38 athletic programs achieved above a 3.0 team GPA during the spring, while 115 student-athletes received a 4.0 GPA in the spring.
LIU's women's ice hockey and women's tennis programs tied for the highest team GPA in the spring semester, with each team posting a 3.85 GPA. In addition, the Shark men's golf team (3.83 GPA), women's gymnastics team (3.81), women's golf team (3.75 GPA), men's ice hockey team (3.71 GPA), and men's water polo team (3.70) all recorded team GPAs at or above a 3.7 in the spring semester.
The Shark men's basketball (3.03 GPA) and baseball (3.36 GPA) teams both claimed NEC regular season and conference tournament titles during the spring, all while maintaining above a 3.0 GPA as a team. Additionally, the LIU softball team earned an NEC regular season title while holding a 3.44 GPA as a team last semester.
