BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -
Julia Trainor of the Long Island University women's lacrosse team was named NEC Midfielder of the Year as five Sharks were named All-NEC selections, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Selia Lyons and
Ashley Magee joined Trainor on the league's first team.
Lindsey Lucia and
Erin Harkins were named second-team all-conference selections.
Trainor, a senior from Billerica, Massachusetts, leads the Sharks with 43 goals and 56 points. She ranks top 10 in the NEC in goals (4
th, 43), goals per game (5
th, 2.69), points (6
th, 56), points per game (6
th, 3.50), ground balls (3
rd, 39), ground balls per game (2
nd, 2.44), caused turnovers (5

Now a two-time midfielder of the year, Trainor has earned four first-team all-conference selections in four seasons.
Lyons, a senior from Miller Place, New York, has scored 20 goals with a team-best 34 assists this season, totaling 54 points. She ranks second in the NEC in assists and assists per game (2.13), earning first-team honors for the first time after a second-team all-conference selection last season.
Magee, a redshirt senior defender from Huntington Station, New York, compiled 19 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers, and five draw controls.
Lucia, a senior from Rocky Point, New York, has scored 25 goals with six assists, totaling 31 points so far this season. This is her second career second-team all-conference selection.
Harkins, a midfielder from Floral Park, New York, follows with 20 goals and two assists for 22 points, also earning her second consecutive second-team all-conference nod.
The Sharks return to action in the semifinals of the NEC Tournament on Thursday vs. (2) Stonehill College in Syracuse, New York. Opening draw is scheduled for 3 p.m. The game will be televised digitally on ESPN+.
