Dalmar Ali joined the LIU staff during the 2023-24 season to serve as the Director of Basketball Operations.
Ali arrived in Brooklyn after serving as a graduate assistant with Florida State men's basketball under Hall of Fame coach Leonard Hamilton.
During Ali’s time with the Seminoles, he maintained records of players, training sessions, games, performance statistics, and equipment.
Ali worked closely with assistant coach Steve Smith, where he assisted with scouting and player development.
Prior to his time with the Seminoles, the Toronto native spent the 2020-21 season as an assistant at Tallahassee Community College, where it finished its season 19-3, which included a Panhandle Championship. Six student-athletes committed to Division I programs during Ali’s time at TCC.
Ali spent the 2019-20 season as an assistant with the Toronto Basketball Academy, where he managed all video-related activities, including coordination, management, video analysis, game film, development, and scouting. The team won the NPH regular season title before the season was cut short due to COVID.
He earned his bachelor's in psychology from Laurentian University and his master's in sports management from Florida State.
