Colleen Mullen Joins LIU Women's Basketball Staff
0809 WBB Group
Brooklyn, N.Y. - Long Island University women’s basketball head coach Gail Striegler announced the addition of Colleen Mullen to the Blackbirds’ coaching staff. Mullen will handle scheduling, on-court workouts and recruiting in the Northeast region.

“We are really excited to have Colleen join our staff,” Striegler said. “She is a welcome addition and brings a great fire and spirit to the program.”

Mullen comes to Brooklyn after a number of successful stops as an assistant coach, most recently at Lehigh where she coached the guards, handled opponent scouting and coordinated team compliance, travel and equipment.

Prior to her time at Lehigh, she spent two seasons as the first assistant at Southern New Hampshire. There, she was the recruiting coordinator and also oversaw player development, scouting, strength and conditioning and academics. Mullen was also the director of basketball operations at Northern Illinois during the 2004-05 season, where she oversaw all administrative aspects of the program.

As a player, Mullen spent two seasons at Rhode Island, leading her team in assists each year before transferring to New Hampshire. A talented point guard, she was one of the top dime dishers in Wildcat history, finishing her two-year career with 217 assists, the 12th-highest mark in school history.

Mullen received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from New Hampshire in 2003. She earned her MBA from Southern New Hampshire in 2006.
